WATCH: Paul Massey Hopes to Defeat de Blasio’s Administration of ‘Mismanagement’

Who can reform New York education, help the city’s poor and fix our subways? Real estate executive and city mayoral candidate Paul Massey believes he can. He stopped by Bold TV to discuss his campaign strategy and goals for New York’s future. Watch here or on our Facebook page.

Homelessness, transportation, education, and housing are among the topics that Paul Massey would like to reform if elected mayor. The candidate expressed his distaste for incumbent Bill de Blasio, arguing that de Blasio’s administration has been one of “mismanagement.”

“We have to have a mayor who creates housing and creates opportunity for people,” Massey said. He added that a strong working relationship with Governor Andrew Cuomo is key to success in this pursuit.

A big challenge Massey faces is gaining name recognition in light of de Blasio’s popularity. Massey is losing in the current polls and must become a more household name to win. To raise his profile, Massey plans to be “community involved” by taking to the streets and speaking with as many people as possible.

“We have a robust campaign in place…and the traction is there. I wish I could meet every single one of the 8 million people in this city,” Massey said. “But we’ll do all of the conventional and latest things to get that name recognition out there.”

When asked what the first piece of policy he would act on once in office would be, Massey responded, “I am passionate about education.”

“There’s no one-size-fits-all. We need to support parochial schools, religious schools, and not forget about our regular public schools,” Massey said. School choice is an important aspect of the candidate’s vision for New York, and Massey said he wants to ensure that different communities’ goals for their schools are supported.
