February marks the beginning of Black History Month, celebrated all across America. Bold TV had the pleasure of speaking to documentary film maker Alicé Anil about her personal experiences with Black History Month.

“It’s important to look at black American’s as contributing but also to look at the history of where we have come from and why we’re here now and what we still have to accomplish” said Anil.

Will we ever not need Black History Month? By celebrating Black History month are we incorporating tokenism, by celebrating for one month of the year, and do we need to include more black history within core education?
