The holiday season can be expensive. And especially with the social and economic crisis due to COVID-19, it can be hard to make some extra holiday cash or even find a side gig to help you earn some money. Luckily for you, our Host Philip Michael shares a few helpful tips to relieve some holiday stress and help you find a side hustle during the holidays!
Choose wisely: Remote work vs. essential jobs
You have two options this time of year when you are looking at a side gig: remote work or essential work. Now remote work is essentially finding a job where you can stay in your own home’s comfort, whether that be for a big or small corporation. Remote work has many opportunities whether you are looking for something that is long-term or you have some extra hours in your day to make some extra money. Essential jobs are more like grocery store workers or delivery-service people. Whatever the case is, these industries help our economy keep going during this chaotic time.
You can make extra holiday cash
Significant companies such as Twitter, Microsoft, Capital One and Amazon have gone fully remote and don’t plan on going back to the office soon. So, consider these companies and see if you can find a job that you are qualified for. It doesn’t hurt to try, but if you are looking for more short-term remote work, you should look on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr or LinkedIn. There is a wide range of jobs on those platforms, from writing assignments to data entry to graphic design. Whatever the case is, they might need an extra set of hands and may hire you. See, you can find a side hustle and get those Christmas gifts you wanted to give or even be the receiver!
