What is happening to Twitter? They already took away favorites. What’s next?
If you’re a devoted Twitter user, you were probably pretty upset when the microblogging site’s signature “favorite” star symbol was swapped out for a sappy-looking heart that lets you “like” a tweet.
But it could get even worse: Twitter is reportedly experimenting with a Facebook-like timeline that would show you tweets out of chronological order. What’s the big deal? Twitter’s most powerful card to play is its immediacy as the one and only breaking news social network. Whether it’s Kim Kardashian or the Associated Press, you heard it first on Twitter. If it starts relying on an algorithm to decide which tweets you see first, Twitter will never be the same.
