You Won’t Believe What Happened When Programs Gave Teens Free Condoms

Giving out free oral contraceptives in the 1960s and 1970s worked to reduce teen pregnancies, so it follows that free condoms would do the same, right? Not so, according to a new report from the National Bureau of Economic Research, according to The Street.

The study found that teen pregnancy rates actually went up, except for in places that required counseling to receive the free condoms.
